President’s Acceptance Speech

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am deeply humbled, truly privileged, and extremely honored to serve as the president of NJ State AAPI. It is with great pleasure that I welcome each and every one of you to our sixth annual convention and gala. This event is a celebration of our shared commitment to excellence in healthcare, service, and community engagement.

At the heart of NJ AAPI, I believe in three guiding principles: education, service and collaboration, and charity. These values shape the foundation of our efforts, and together, we’ve accomplished remarkable things this year:
• We hosted a series of lectures on vital topics like Vitiligo and Colon Cancer, delivered by outstanding speakers.
• We successfully launched an educational Zoom webinar series, reaching more members and sharing crucial medical knowledge.
• For the first time, we are working on publishing the NJ AAPI newsletter, keeping our community connected and informed.

Looking forward, we are excited about several new initiatives:
• Establishing observerships and internships for foreign medical graduates, as well as creating mentorship and next-generation leadership programs.
• Planning a medical camp and launching a unique fundraiser with “AAPI Physicians Got Talent” to showcase the incredible abilities within our organization.

I am constantly inspired by the dedication, expertise, and passion that each of you brings to this gathering. Together, we are redefining healthcare delivery for the 21st century, and I am excited about the future we are building.

A gala of this magnitude would not be possible without the tireless efforts of the entire executive committee and board of trustees. I am deeply indebted to each and every one of them for their teamwork and dedication.

I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, contributors, and advertisers. Your support is essential to the success of our organization. Most importantly, I thank all of you who share our passion for advancing healthcare and supporting NJ AAPI.

Lastly, I want to express my deepest thanks to my husband, Surendra, for his unwavering advice and unconditional support. To our children—Ritu, Rupal, Himalaya—and our grandchildren, Harin and Riyan, thank you for your encouragement and love. You are the foundation of my strength.

Sincerely,
Sudha Nahar, MD
